G. Robert Bishop

Bishop Partners, LLC

Member Profile

On July 1 of 2001, Bob opened his new company, Bishop Partners, LLC.  Bishop Partners is an executive recruiting firm specializing in “The Business of Creative”.  The firm continues to work with clients all over the country helping identify, recruit and hire premier candidates in the fields of advertising, marketing, communications and special events.

Since that time, Bob is proud to have contributed to the growth and/or stability literally scores of advertising, marketing and client side companies, while assisting with the advancement of the careers of top performing professionals.

Bob is a 25 year veteran of commercial photography in St. Louis, opening his own business in 1984.  He was President of Bishop Photography, Inc., a "full service" advertising studio.  Bob's photography has been commissioned by major advertising agencies, design and promotion firms and corporations in the St. Louis region and nationally.

Bob established a reputation as being one of the most sought after creators of executive portraits.  He has photographed virtually all of the Fortune 500 CEOs  and/or Presidents in the St. Louis region.  He has been commissioned to shoot executives for General Dynamics, McDonnell Douglas, Anheuser Busch, The May Company, Monsanto, Seven-up, A.G. Edwards, Mark Twain Banks, United Van Lines, Interco and TWA, among others.

In 1997, Bob was hired out of the commercial photography business to become Director of Operations for Color Associates’ Creative Imaging Group.  This group included over 20 art directors, designers, 3D illustrators, a team of production experts and a dedicated sales and support staff, totaling over 65 employees.  Six months after being hired, Bob was promoted to Vice President of Operations.

The Creative Imaging Group included complete creative capabilities (including print collateral, display graphics and multimedia/interactive and online presentations), a digital photography studio, a digital imaging facility including a Durst Lambda and multiple other output devices for both indoor and outdoor applications.  Color Associates’ Creative Imaging Group became Group360 Communications, in March of 2001.

In 2000 Bob resigned as VP, Director of Operations and concentrated exclusively on national new business development for Group360.  He specialized in the sales and account service for the creation and execution of print, interactive, multimedia and online communications for trade shows and special events.

Some of the clients of the Creative Imaging Group included:  Texas Instruments, Qwest Communications, Convergys, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Eli Lilly, Eastern Mountain Sports, Casual Corner and the Home Depot.

In 1995 Bob served on the Board of the St. Louis Advertising Club and was responsible for the "Photographer's and Illustrator's Showcase", an exhibit of advertising artwork.  Bob was appointed to the Board of RTEC, the Regional Technology Education Council, funded by the State of Missouri.  He was also a member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Visual Technology at St. Louis Community College, Meramec Valley Campus for over 10 years. Bob served on the Business Marketing Association Board from 2002-2005.  Additionally Bob is currently active on the St. Louis Ad Club Board of Directors where he serves as Marketing Chair, as well as the Board of the Missouri Association of Personnel and Staffing Services (MAPSS).

Bob was a founding member of ASMP (The American Society of Media Photographers) in 1984 and continues to serve on its Board.  In the four years of his presidency of ASMP, the organization tripled in size.  He was responsible for the creation of the award winning newsletter Focus, which served the St. Louis visual communications industry.  He was chairman of the Photographer's committee and sat on the Board of STARS (The St. Louis Advertising Resource Syndicate).  STARS presented a three day advertising exhibition for the public and the trade, at the Cervantes Convention Center, in St. Louis.  Additionally, he has lectured on the business of photography at Washington University in St. Louis as well as the St. Louis Community Colleges.  His photographs have been exhibited at the St. Louis Art Museum, Washington University, St. Louis Community College and several local galleries.

Bob has consistently been awarded for his participation and support of St. Louis charitable groups, most notably The United Way, The Humane Society and the St. Louis Zoo.  He has also won the respect of his peers with literally dozens of Flair, Addy , Not Just An Art Director’s Club, TAM  and other local and national awards.

Bob graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
